The evening meal is served at 8:00pm...a lite meal...to close our day...we will be served vegetarian meals...yum!Tea...soup with rice...most ingredients grown at Nierika.
The breakfast is served at 8:00am...porridge...fruit...eggs...alway beans & tortillas...also, yum!
The main meal is served at 2:00pm...substantial to sustain us through our day...beautifully created...with thought and care.

Meditation Cave

I awoke early today...wanting to find a quiet, dry place to read, meditate and begin my day...wandering around the grounds...I come upon...an entrance?I cave...manmade...an altar...steps...a 'perch' upon a stone.
I light candles...sit in stillness...

We will be spending 80 hours during the next two weeks in this lovely classroom...learning about quantum midwifery and undisturbed birth.Whapio Diane Bartlett, a traditional midwife and teacher, will be sharing her wisdom in the Art of Midwifery and Healing
Women from all over the world gather to learn and share.

Arrival

Niericka Retreat Center in Chalmita, Mexico opens their gates to welcome us. We have arrived!

There's a taxi story...driver expected 2 passengers...turned out to be 6 - 4 women & 2 toddlers...plus 8 pieces of luggage. Luis magically got us all in...luggage in front, trunk, back...6 passengers squished into the back seat!

We made it safely!Amazing!

Sophie's practicing her hunting...and she's developing the skill...it's natural. It's hard for us to watch...Taylor wants her to stop...keep her indoors. She brought home a young goldfinch...missing a few tail feathers. Taylor rescued it...made a nest in a shoebox...gave it seeds and water. It was renewed this morning...she set it free...locked Sophie inside...hoping it survives. Letting go...and trusting...always life's lesson.

She sits on the porch...at the top of the stairs...of the north house...at the steepest part of my morning path...watching. Looks to have lived long...wise eyes...gentle. She descends the many steps...slowly...stubby tail wagging...for a scritch.I ascend the hill...pause...pet...smile...and catch my breath...Nice!

Hola a todas!

In only 8 days...I will be traveling to Chalmita, Mexico...my first ever solo international trip! I'm excited and...just a bit nervous. Sé un poco español...but have decided to brush up a bit...at least greetings and some 'traveling' words...so I'm listening to CDs...at home...and in the car! Spike has learned how to say: Mi nombre es Spike. Very cute :)

The Sweater - #1

I love this pattern...found when Todd & Chris announced expectations! It knitted up sooo cute...and became this grama's first gift. He's now just the right size...the weather cooled...it's sweater time! HE'S sooo cute...and warm! Sweet!
