Near 40 years ago...I gleaned the bent-wood rocker from the attic of my family's Mapleton cabin...a new mom eager to rock with my firstborn baby girl. It was old and worn having rocked a few generations on my grandparents' mountain cabin porch. I cleaned & fixed it up...cherished it, as our family grew...8 babies soothed through the years...until love & time wore it out.
Sitting in a 'pass-it-along' store window...another chair...bent-wood & oak. I drove by it often on my travels...glimpsing...remembering...wondering...if it too rocked. We stopped the other day, Spike & I...and "Yes!" Now Grama B...eager to rock with grandbabies...in another bent-wood rocker...pulls forward memories...anticipating!
